Senator Dahle Introduces Bill To Provide Tax Credits For Hardening Homes Against Wildfires

State Senator Brian Dahle is pushing for tax incentives for rural Californians to harden their homes against wildfire. Dahle has introduced AB-952, which would provide a tax credit to offset the costs of clearing defensible space and improving older homes to make them less susceptible to catching fire. It’s hoped that such safety measures will slow the trend of insurance companies abandoning rural residents as they’re less willing to issue homeowners insurance policies.
