Several Fires Break Out As Red Flag Conditions Are Forecast Through Thursday Afternoon

Two separate fires prompted evacuation warnings in Siskiyou County Wednesday.

The Desavado Fire started in Juniper and grass 2 miles northeast of Ager. It was contained at a little over 22 acres.

The Moeffett Fire was burning on a knob of land off Moffett Creek Road in the Fort Jones area. it was held to 6-and-a-half acres.

A mid-day fire west of Cottonwood in Tehama County had rapid rate of spread with a wind pushing it through grass and Oak woodland in red flag conditions. It started near Jefford Lane between Bowman Road and Highway 36. Crews were able to stop it when it reached Joe Dog Lane, holding it at 25 acres.
