A registered sex offender has been sent back to prison after an unfortunate mishap for him. 48-year-old Walter Joseph Schambach was in a public parking lot in Corning drinking an alcoholic beverage when a police officer approached and asked for his ID. While pulling his identification out of his pocket, a bag containing methamphetamine came out of the pocket as well and dropped to the ground. Schambach pled guilty to drug possession and, due to prior convictions, has been sentenced to 3 years in state prison.
