The Shasta District Fair is next week. This year the fair is celebrating 175 years of California statehood. The fair will run next Wednesday through Sunday at the Fairgrounds in Anderson. It’s by far the most attended event in Shasta County, with around 80,000 visitors. It opens at Noon on Wednesday, which is “Waterworks Park – Wild 99-3 Free Kids Day”, with free admission for kids 12 and under, and $5 for everyone else. Thursday will be free for anyone 62 and over. Rodeo events can be seen Friday night for an extra $10. Discount pre-sale tickets are available at Tri Counties Bank branches or Hardware Express in Anderson. For those wanting to enter their own masterpieces, the deadline for horticulture and floriculture is Friday at 5PM, with no late entries accepted. Information is at shastadistrictfairandeventcenter.com or 378-6789.
