During Tuesday’s meeting Shasta County Supervisors discussed the county’s Flock automated roadside camera system. There are many legal actions pending nationwide against the use of Flock-type cameras. Public speakers were split, with the majority of them opposed. Sheriff Michael Johnson said the cameras have become his department’s most effective investigative technology. He’ll return next month with a more detailed presentation, and the board will then decide on whether to cancel or not.
