A car with a 4-year-old child inside was stolen for a short time in Bella Vista Wednesday morning, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were called at 7:44 and learned the car had been taken from in front of a business on Deschutes Road. A short time later a CalFire Prevention Officer saw the car in front of a different business and told the child’s parent. Other concerned people helped stop the car on Highway 299 just west of My-T-Fine Foods. Deputies responded and took 29-year-old Christina Marie Vallesteros into custody. She apparently told them she had taken the car and then noticed and spoke with the child and had decided to take the car back when she was stopped. Deputies determined she was on an unknown drug and took her to a hospital for a blood draw before taking her to jail to be booked on a long list of charges. Bail is set at $125,000.
