Shooting At Chico Party Kills 17-Year-Old Girl, Injures 5 Others

A shooting at a Chico house party ended in the death of a teenager and injuries to five others. The shooting early Saturday morning at a home on Colombus Avenue apparently resulted from bad blood at another party on West 7th street, where there was a fight. Several shots were fired at that party after the suspect was told to leave, but nobody was hit by gunfire. Two people were hospitalized, one after being pistol whipped and the other after being hit in the head with a bottle. The suspect from that shooting was arrested for brandishing at around 3AM near the Colombus Avenue party. A half hour later officers were called back to the same party when people were shot by a different gunman. A 17-year-old girl was killed and 5 people between the ages of 17 and 21 were hospitalized. The shooter from that party is still at large.
