The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department says they busted a 55-year-old man from Fort Bragg with very large quantities of both Cannabis and cash. Deputies stopped Shel Saunders in a sprinter van as he was leaving the Mount Shasta Vista area. They say they established probable cause for a search and found 74 bags containing a total of 1,363 pounds of Marijuana bud, as well as $253,870. Saunders apparently did not have any paperwork to show that the Cannabis had been legally grown or certified for sale. A 40 caliber handgun was allegedly found in the engine compartment of the van. Everything, including the money, was seized and Saunders was booked into the Siskiyou County Jail.
