A Siskiyou County man has been sentenced for sexually abusing teenage girls. 41-year-old Dustin Ray Brown was involved in Future Farmers of America, and used his position to groom children for abuse. Brown made contact with some of his victims through livestock sales at the Siskiyou County Fair, as well as by employing them at his business. Some of his victims were younger than 16. He was arrested in September of 2024 and in July Brown was convicted of 12 counts by a Siskiyou County Jury that deliberated for less than a day. Prosecutors had said Brown could have been sentenced to as much as 34 years in prison. He was sentenced last Thursday to 20 years in state prison. He must register as a sex offender and is barred for life from contacting the victims.
