Siskiyou Deputies Seize 40 Pounds Of Cocaine During Traffic Stop

Another large drug seizure has been made in Siskiyou County. On May 29th a deputy pulled over a 2022 Mazda CX-5 for a mechanical violation. The driver apparently had no license and the deputy reported signs of criminal activity. While making an inventory prior to impound, evidence of a false compartment was found in the interior body of the SUV near the rear door. The Mount Shasta Police K9 was requested and brought to the scene. The dog indicated positively and the compartment was breached. The deputy found 18 Kilos- around 40 Pounds -of Cocaine in multiple sealed packages tied together. The driver was booked into jail.
