Dan Sloan has apparently been deposed from his position as Chair of the Shasta County Republican Central Committee. In a press release, Sloan says he was informed of potential wrongdoing and investigated, then became the subject of slander and defamation. Without stating any specifics, Sloan says the harm done to him and the community is substantial. Sloan, who unsuccessfully ran for District 2 Supervisor and also interviewed for the Registrar of Voters position, has filed suit against other members of the committee, the committee itself, and the California Republican Party. He says he’s subpoenaed documents concerning large political donations to Assemblyman Gallagher and others.
