A man from Corona has been sentenced for growing Marijuana in Lassen National Forest. 30-year-old Gerardo Lara Trujillo was arrested last September by a U.S. Forest Service Officer at the Eatom Campground off Highway 32. He had diverted water from a spring and polluted the area with fertilizers and trash, and also had a sawed-off shotgun when he was arrested. Although he was busted on federal land, Trujillo was prosecuted in Tehama County Superior Court. He pled guilty to cultivating more than 6 Cannabis plants with a concurrent violation of environmental law and has been sentenced to 6 months in county jail and 2 years probation.
