Over $12 Million is going to wildfire prevention efforts in Northern California. Part of a $62.6 Million Dollar grant project statewide from CAL FIRE that will benefit 84 wildfire prevention projects. In Shasta County the Backbone Ridge Fuel Break will help protect the communities of Ingot, Oak Run, Round Mountain, and Bella Bista, and provide safer egress for residents and protection to 950 structures. The Shingletown Phase Two Fuel Break will benefit the communities of Whispering Woods Estates, Lake McCumber, Viola, and Shasta Forest Village. Other projects are scheduled for Siskiyou, Butte, and Tehama Counties.
