A decision not to rehire a former West Valley High School football coach has been met with protest. Greg Grandell resigned 5 years ago amid a hazing scandal. A resulting series of lawsuits was settled for an undisclosed amount. Grandell recently sought to get his job back, but last week the Anderson Union High School District Board of Trustees unanimously turned him down. About 300 students, players and former students held a rally on the West Valley Football field on Friday to let their opinions in support of Grandell be known.
