Supervisors Cancel Special Meeting After Shredding Of Ballots From 2024 Election

The Shasta County Board of Supervisors canceled their special meeting that was set for Monday afternoon. Board Chair Chris Kelstrom indicated the meeting was called to address Clint Curtis’ failure to destroy November 2024 ballots, but that shredding was done Saturday so the meeting was canceled. There was speculation that it had been to discuss a threat of litigation from a refusal to release a copy of the federal subpoena of Clint Curtis in response to a public records request from Shasta Scout. The subpoena may shed light on a federal investigation into June’s local primary election.
