Supervisors Chose New York Attorney To Be New Registrar Of Voters

Applicants hoping to become Shasta County’s Interim Clerk and Registrar of Voters faced a grueling interview process by the Board of Supervisors Wednesday. Kevin Crye and Chris Kelstrom backed Clint Curtis, a New York attorney and self-described election integrity advocate. Matt Plummer and Alan Long both supported Assistant Clerk and Registrar of Voters Joanna Francescut. Corkey Harmon was the swing vote and Clint Curtis was chosen by a 3 to 2 vote. Curtis will serve through January 4th of 2027, as voters will be given a choice for a new Clerk and ROV in June of next year.
