Supervisors Will Discuss Making Changes To Public Comment Period

At Tuesday’s meeting, the Shasta County Board of Supervisors will discuss removing some of the restrictions on public comments. That includes removing the limit of four topics addressed by each speaker, increasing the overall time of public comment to 30 minutes, and allowing the chair to adjust the time each speaker may comment on a specific item. Last October a bill was signed into law by the Governor that requires teleconferencing options, and staff is still working to make that possible.
