Supervisors Will Vote On Pay Raise At Tuesday’s Meeting

During Tuesday’s meeting, the Shasta County Board of Supervisors will be voting on a pay raise for themselves. In May of 2024 supervisors gave themselves a huge raise, from an annual salary of around $53,000 to around $83,000. It was the board’s first pay hike in about 22 years. The board also set a formula that would tie their salaries to UPEC, one of the county’s largest public employee unions. Each time a cost-of-living-adjustment is granted to UPEC-represented employees, the same percentage is granted to the board members. UPEC recently negotiated a 4% boost, so the board will vote Tuesday on whether to do the same for themselves.
