Video footage from body-worn cameras has been released by Susanville Police Department from an officer-involved shooting that left a man dead. A little after Midnight on May 6th officers were asked by a woman to check the welfare of her 3 children at an apartment on Richmond Road. She said Derek Sikong was acting aggressively and refusing to release the children to her. She also said Sikong was on drugs and threatened to harm the kids. When officers arrived at the apartment Sikong was at an upstairs window and soon was dangling a child out the window while holding a machete. When he had a clear shot, an officer fired on him. Officers then broke down the front door and Sikong injured one of them with the machete before he was shot down. The disturbing video can be seen on the KQMS Facebook Page.
