A Tehama County Sheriff’s K9 was punched while apprehending a suspect Monday. Deputies were investigating a vandalism incident in the City of Tehama and identified Daniel Dean as a suspect. He also had a no bail felony warrant from Los Angeles. When deputies tried to detain him he reportedly became combative and ran, barricading himself in the basement of an occupied house. Blaze the K9 went after him and was punched repeatedly in the head. Dean was booked into jail on charges including felony battery on a police K9.
