All evacuation orders have been lifted for the Thompson Fire in Butte County near Oroville. In addition all roads are now open in the area, and the Oroville Dam Recreation Area has reopened. The fire is 98 percent contained and has burned 3, 789 acres. Crews are working to strengthen control lines and work on suppression repair. A damage inspection team found 13 homes were destroyed and five damaged. 13 other structures were destroyed and three damaged. The fire began Tuesday and caused the cancellation of the annual fireworks display in Oroville. Eight firefighters were injured, mostly with heat related issues.
