Trial Delayed Again For Former Cal Fire Captain Facing 134 Charges Of Sexually Abusing Children

For the last four years, trial dates have been set multiple times for a former Cal Fire Captain accused of child molestation against multiple victims. The reason for many of the continued delays has been the appearance of additional alleged victims, expanding the case against 40-year-old Peter Mock. He was initially arrested in July of 2022 at the Big Bend Cal Fire Station, and charged with 74 counts of sexual abuse against a child under the age of 14. As the case has grown, Mock now has 4 child sexual assault cases pending against him involving 7 alleged victims and 134 charges. Last week, over the objection of prosecutors, Mock’s defense was granted a continuation of the long-cause preliminary hearing. It’ll be rescheduled April 13th. Mock has denied all the accusations against him. He’s being held on bail of more than $2 Million.
