Trial Delayed For Man Accused Of Crossbow Killing Due To Lack Of Courtrooms

A trial for an accused murderer could not be held because no courtroom was available. 63-year-old Glen Stevenson is charged with killing 46-year-old Salvador Robago on September First at a home on Radio Lane. Rabago had been impaled through the chest by a crossbow bolt. He was pronounced dead after arriving at a hospital. Stevenson has a lengthy criminal record involving drugs and guns and was already on probation for being a felon in possession of a gun. In mid-October he was offered a deal that would have him plead to second degree murder. He turned it down and is charged with first degree murder, facing a possible life sentence. The case was confirmed for jury trial on December 31st but the unavailability of a courtroom put the case into an “on-call” status. The court had until last Friday to assign the case to a courtroom but that did not happen so Tuesday morning the case was dismissed over the objection of the prosecutor. The case was immediately refiled and Stevenson was arraigned again. A new preliminary hearing is set for January 29th.
