A Redding man accused of killing his mother and his brother has decided not to represent himself at trial. Last September 2nd, Redding Police arrived at a home on Abernathy Lane to find Chastity Milenewicz and Anthony Penta shot to death. 32-year-old Jesse Penta was arrested at the scene. He’s charged with two counts of murder, as well as a special allegation of murder for financial gain. After being evaluated by two doctors for mental competency, Penta chose to fire his counsel and represent himself. Last week he changed his mind and requested a new lawyer, and he was appointed one. His trial date has been delayed until October so that his attorney can have time to prepare.
