Trinity County has taken a proactive measure to protect their cannabis industry. The county has a robust and highly profitable permitted commercial cannabis growing industry that provides a healthy tax base and an important part of the local economy. Last week the board of supervisors passed an ordinance banning the cultivation of industrial hemp because the presence of hemp plants can destroy cannabis through cross pollination.
