Turtle Bay’s 34th annual plant sale is this weekend. A wide selection of plants that are proven survivors in the Northstate climate can be found, including hardy perennials, California native grasses, many unusual flowering plants, evergreen groundcovers, shrubs and popular heirloom vegetables. Many of the plants are drought-resistant, and they’ve all been propagated and grown on site at the Turtle Bay Nursery. The plant sale is Saturday from 9AM to 3PM at the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens off North Market Street. First choice will be available for a members-only 30% off sale from 4PM to 7PM Friday evening. There’s also a “Charlie Rabbit” children’s program both days, with gardening and nature activities for young children. More information is at turtlebaynursery.org.
