There was a major injury accident on Highway 299 just west of Redding late Thursday afternoon. At around 5:30PM, a 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac SUV driven by 46-year-old Chantal Williams of Redding was sitting at the Iron Mountain Road stopsign waiting to turn left onto the highway, while 60-year-old Jacob Wilbur of French Gulch was westbound on 299 in his F-150 pickup. Wilbur’s pickup struck the front corner of the SUV, then overturned. He suffered a cut to his hand, while Williams had a broken left arm.
