Tyler McCain Trial Set For March

The murder trial of Tyler Scott McCain has been pushed to three months from now. He’s accused of killing his wife and the mother of his children, Nikki Saelee-McCain, to prevent her from testifying against him for domestic violence. She vanished in May of last year. It’s the first time a murder trial has been held in Shasta County without the discovery of a body, but there was apparently a lot of physical evidence in Nikki’s vehicle. Tyler’s lengthy preliminary hearing ended with him ordered to answer to 12 charges. His jury trial had been set to begin November 18th but the defense moved for a continuance because they said they needed more time to prepare for trial. The motion was granted and on Tuesday a judge agreed to set the trial to begin March 17th.
