A woman who died from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash south of Redding Friday has been identified by the Shasta County Coroners Office as 76-year-old Monica Marie Martin of Guntersville, Alabama. Just after 5 O’clock Friday afternoon Martin was northbound on Interstate 5 riding a 2025 Indian motorcycle. She was in the center lane north of Knighton Road when she allowed the motorcycle to drift into the freeway median, where she lost control and crashed, according to the CHP. She was transported to Mercy Medical Center and pronounced dead a short time later. Alcohol or drugs are not suspected.
