We’ve learned a little more about a collision Wednesday between a Propane truck and a Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputy. It happened a little after 10:30AM on Clear Creek Road just east of Cloverdale Road. The truck was carrying about 600 Gallons of Propane, which started leaking after the crash, prompting evacuations of nearby residents and a closure of Clear Creek Road from Cloverdale to Honeybee Lane. The CHP tells us the two vehicles clipped each other’s front ends as they were driving in opposite directions. Officers are still reviewing dash cam footage to determine which of them crossed the center line. The AmeriGas driver had complaints of pain. The CHP said the deputy, who was driving a Ford Explorer patrol vehicle, sustained minor injuries. However a GoFundMe Campaign has been set up for Deputy Dusty Funderberg that says he suffered a fractured vertebra, a severe head laceration and multiple other injuries.
