If a Public Safety Power Shutoff is initiated by PG&E, it may affect many more customers than previously estimated. Much like the shutoff done earlier this week, the intentional outages would be due to elevated fire danger from dry and gusty conditions. It could start Wednesday afternoon and continue through Saturday, possibly affecting as many as 70,000 customers in 29 counties. That would include more than 3,000 in Shasta County, more than 800 in Tehama County and about 3100 in Butte County. The affected customers will be notified of the impending outage.
