Redding Police have arrested a suspect in a shooting last week. Shortly before Noon last Wednesday a victim was shot in the area of Innsbruck Drive in East Redding, and was hospitalized at Mercy with a non-life-threatening wound. Witnesses told police about a primer gray Dodge Charger seen speeding away. Soon after, an RPD Sergeant saw the car driving recklessly near Old Oregon Trail and Old Alturas Road. By using the Sheriff’s Department’s new FLCOK license plate reader cameras, police were able to place the car in the area of the shooting, and surveillance footage captured the incident. They learned the car had recently been sold to 46-year-old Troy Lyons. He has a lengthy criminal history, including a recent prison stint for assault with a gun. A little after Noon the CHP spotted the car from the air and multiple agencies chased it but driving recklessly at over a hundred miles an hour, the suspect got away. The car was later found abandoned off Oak Run Road. On Friday police learned Lyons may have been in Red Bluff and with help from Tehama County Detectives, he was taken into custody.
