The Shasta County District Attorney’s Office has pointed out that they are not the investigating agency for a Modoc County Sheriff’s Department officer involved shooting case. The Modoc County Sheriff had said that, but the shooting is actually being investigated by the Shasta County Multi-Agency Officer-Involved Critical Incident Response Team, which includes the DA’s office along with the Sheriff’s Office, Redding and Anderson Police and the CHP. On Tuesday in a statement about another matter, Shasta County Sheriff Michael Johnson said he was in Modoc County assisting their investigation. On Monday Modoc County Deputies responded to a burglary in progress that was interrupted, followed by a fight. The suspect suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was flown to a hospital out of the area. No other details have been released.
