More Tehama County drug money has been distributed. Following a $25,000 grant to the Upstate California Film Commission, the Tehama County Major Crimes Unit’s Anti-Drug/Anti-Gang Board has announced an award of $12,000 to the Red Bluff High School Football Team. They now have the funds necessary to make a trip to Texas and play the Midland High School team on October 2nd. The money for the grant comes from seizures of drug dealer proceeds. State law requires that 15% of forfeited drug assets be used for anti-gang or anti-drug programs. The board says the football team’s promotion of after-school activities qualifies it for the funding.
