KQMS is following-up on a story that received widespread attention last month. It involved the deaths of 84-year-old Judith Wyler Sheldon and her husband, Wylie. She was the daughter of famed movie director William Wyler, who made such classic films as Ben Hur, Roman Holiday, The Best Years Of Our Lives, and Mrs. Miniver. The elderly couple was found dead along Interstate Five north of Redding on June 15th. They were described as “unresponsive” when Highway Patrol Officers discovered their vehicle, which still had the motor running. At the time of their deaths, local temperatures had reached 109 degrees. The Shasta County Coroner’s Office tells us post-mortem examinations on the couple were done a few weeks ago. Toxicology results are still pending and may also take several weeks to determine. Mrs. Sheldon was a well-known patron of the arts in San Francisco. Her husband was a prominent attorney.
