Tuesday marks the 107th anniversary of the armistice that ended World War One, which was signed at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. Originally called Armistice Day, November 11th became Veterans Day. The Northern California Veterans Cemetery will begin its Veterans Day ceremony sharply at 11am to honor those who have served our country. The event usually attracts hundreds of visitors. Organizers would like people to arrive before 10:50 for a full program of speakers, a flyover and music by Sequoia Middle School Band, the Jefferson Pipe Band and Demetra Frese. The cemetery is located on Gas Point Road just south of Igo. From Redding it can be reached by way of Placer Road or Clear Creek Road.
