As part of the “Clean California” Campaign, Cal-Trans has sponsored a number of landfill events for people to get rid of special handling items and hazardous waste. A dump event running through September in Tehama County is for just plain old household waste. Tehama County residents may dump household waste that will fit in one truck bed or trailer up to 6 feet long at the Tehama County/Red Bluff Landfill. There’s a limited number of vouchers available and when they’re gone the event will be over. The program is available by appointment only by emailing tehamacountyrecycles@co.tehama.ca.us.
