Wanted Man Captured After Leading Authorities On Chase From Redding To Clear Creek Bridge

A wanted man was captured Thursday afternoon after a chase by Redding Police with help from several other agencies. Just after 3PM an officer on Highway 273 in South Redding saw the driver of a southbound Honda Accord break several traffic laws, so he turned around and tried to catch up with him. The Honda headed west on Clear Creek Road, passing cars over double yellow lines and nearly causing crashes before the occupants abandoned it near the Clear Creek Bridge down the hill from Cloverdale Road. CHP Air Ops, Anderson Police and Cal-Fire helped find 38-year-old Joshua Haller and 43-year-old Rachel Toso in thick bushes in the canyon. Haller had a felony warrant and is being held without bail. Police say he’s tried to evade them multiple times in the past year. Toso’s bail is $25,000 on a charge of accessory after the fact.
