A man from Washington State has been sentenced for a large drug bust in Tehama County. During a Midnight traffic stop on Northbound Interstate 5 in the Cottonwood area May 9th, Silas the Sheriff’s Department K9 sniffed around a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Javier Mendoza Zamora. The dog alerted to the odor of drugs so deputies searched and found over 51 Pounds of Methamphetamine, along with more than $11,000. Zamora pled guilty to possession of drugs for sale with a special allegation for the large quantity. He’s been sentenced to 6 years 4 months in state prison.
