A report of shots fired between vehicles is being investigated by the Trinity County sheriff’s Department. A little after 7 O’clock Saturday evening deputies were dispatched to the area of Oak Avenue in Hayfork. Both vehicles were gone when deputies arrived, but surveillance footage captured video of a gray sedan heading toward Highway 3, followed by a white Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. Gunshots could be heard in the video and muzzle flashes were seen coming from the truck. The driver of the sedan was later contacted, and provided information about the pickup truck driver. Tips are sought from anyone who witnessed the shooting or can identify the shooter.
