A wildfire north of Hoopa is burning through heavy timber. The MP 18 Fire started late Friday afternoon and forced the closure of Highway 96 and prompted a number of evacuation warnings. The fire expanded quickly Sunday afternoon, from 500 to 1,335 acres. It’s just 10% contained.
A fire broke out in Trinity County Friday afternoon. The Flat Fire was burning off Blanchards Flat Road in the Douglas City area. There were some evacuation warnings before it was stopped at 6.25 Acres.
A fire off south Wallen Road in the Bend area of Northern Tehama County was stopped at less than acre Saturday.
The Garrison Fire off Benson Road southwest of Cottonwood was also stopped at less than an acre Saturday.
