Woman Accused On Starting The Fawn Fire Pleads Not Guilty To Arson Charges

The woman accused of starting the Fawn Fire had a court appearance Monday. 31-year-old Alexandra Souverneva was declared competent to stand trial in April after spending some time in a mental facility. The Fawn Fire was started in the Mountain Gate area in September of 2021. It burned 8,578 acres and destroyed 185 structures. 3 firefighters were injured. On Monday Souverneva pleaded not guilty to six counts of arson.
