A Redding woman who pled guilty to child molestation has been sentenced to 24 years in state prison. 35-year-old Arieanna Bruner also will be on parole for 10 years after her release and must register as a sex offender for life. Although she pled guilty to nine counts of lewd acts against a child under the age of 14, the judge noted that she still denied responsibility for her actions. Bruner was arrested in September of 2024 and was given psychiatric exams to prove her competence to stand trial. At Thursday’s sentencing hearing, one of the victims said she continues to have difficulty trusting people, but is glad she was strong enough to tell her mother what happened and prevent the abuse of more children.
