The Shasta Arson Task Force investigating a deadly house fire near Shingletown say that so far no suspicious circumstances have been found and the fire appears to have been accidental. The fire broke out off Dersch Road near Lack Creek at around 1 O’clock last Thursday afternoon. The 800 square foot house was a complete loss. Fire also destroyed several vehicles and spread to vegetation. Cal-Fire and several other agencies dispatched a full wildland response, eventually holding the vegetation fire to less than an acre. The remains of an unidentified person were found inside the house.
